The primary health care delivery strategy for Somalia aims to:

address the social determinants of health through the community-based initiative approach, focusing on community empowerment, partnership, intersectoral collaboration and reducing health inequities

improve sexual and reproductive health

improve health during pregnancy, childbirth, the neonatal period, childhood and adolescence

control noncommunicable diseases, including mental health and the prevention of blindness.
