WHO Collaborating Centres in the Eastern Mediterranean Region

WHO Collaborating Centres are national institutions designated by the Director-General of the World Health Organization to form part of an international collaborative network carrying out activities in support of WHO’s mandate for international health work and its programme priorities. At present there are 48 WHO Collaborating Centres in the Easterm Mediterranean  Region, engaged both at national and regional level to conduct activities like collection and dissemination of information; development, application and evaluation of appropriate technology; coordination of activities carried out by several institutions on a given subject; participation in collaborative research efforts; and provision of information and advice on scientific, technical and policy issues.
