A WHO/OCHA team visited al Aqsa Hospital in Deir al Balah after damage from an attack on July 21, 2014, killed one patient and three companions and injured 16.  All patients were evacuated and the 100-bed hospital is no longer functioning. All patients were evacuated and the 100-bed hospital is no longer functioning. 

The Ministry of Health reported as of 20 July (16:00), a total of 425 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza (112 children, 41 women and 25 people over the age of 60), and a total of 3008 Palestinians have been injured (904 children, 533 women and 119 people over the age of 60). The ongoing ground incursion, begun 18 July, has greatly accelerated the casualty rate over the past two days, as well as the numbers of displaced families.
