Polio staff regularly provide support to the Expanded Programme of Immunization (EPI), as well as contributing to other priority and emergency health programmes at country level.

Most countries of the Region have continued to provide much of the required resources for the polio eradication effort, particularly with respect to routine immunization and surveillance. In addition, considerable external financial resources were secured to support national activities, especially operational expenses for supplementary immunization activities, technical support and the resources required to continue surveillance activities.
