Learning outcomes
On the completion of this module, you will be able to:
Further develop your general understanding of health systems in your country;
Explore current concepts in health systems development, which include boundaries, goals, functions and relationships among elements of the health system;
Explain the concepts related to health systems performance and outline a practical approach you might adapt to assess and monitor the performance of your site;
Assess the factors that impact on the management effectiveness and overall performance of the health system;
Identify some of the effects of major system wide change programmes such as health reform on the system and on your site in particular;
Relate changes occurring in the national health system to the management effectiveness at your site;
Explore ways of improving management effectiveness at your site.
