Aim of project: Ensuring the appropriate handling and disposal of biohazardous waste as a part of infection control programme.

Methods used: Data collection through observation, checklists, questionnaires, brainstorming sessions and informal interviews with patients.  Analysis using flowchart, cause and effect diagram and Pareto chart. Solution using RASCI chart, selection matrix and Gantt chart.

Solutions: Greater provision of cleaning staff and use of informal client interview as means of verification of the cleaning process.

Results: Significant improvements in cleanliness observed across departments.
