Human Resources Management
A critical factor in any organization is personnel or human resources (HR): developing a rational and structured approach to HR is considered a crucial aspect of the delivery of health care. When managers engage in HR activities, they seek to facilitate the contribution people make to achieve an organization’s strategies and plans. This “strategic management of human resources” view requires that managers make efforts to further the organization's competitive advantage through planning and actions in HR management, with a focus on improving performance and outcomes.
Rationale
Organizations must improve through more effective and efficient use of its human resources. Effective relates to producing the right product of services that society deems appropriate and in the case of HR, this means providing reliable, care and professional service. The more efficient a process is, the less resources are required to produce its product or services of the same standard. For HR management, this means doing a better job by deploying staff in a strategic, methodical way.
