WHO responds to humanitarian needs in Tripoli with the support of ECHO

Trauma_kits22 January 2018, Tripoli, Libya – Following armed clashes at Mitiga Airport and surrounding areas, the WHO country office in Libya delivered 1 Emergency Trauma kits type B to the field hospital in Tripoli that is run by the Administration of Wounded under the Ministry of Health. 

The clashes resulted in 25 deaths and 101 moderate to serious injuries. This kit was procured with financial support from the European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (ECHO). Each kit covers the treatment for 100 injured people.  

WHO renews its continued humanitarian commitment and support to all people in Libya.
