7 March 2018 – The World Health Organization (WHO) country office in Libya has delivered 2 mechanical ventilators with all accessories to Alaafia Hospital in Houn. The neonatal ventilators will support gynaecology and obstetrics medical services of Alaafia Hospital that cover the underserved southern and central regions of Libya. One of the ventilators was delivered in December 2017 and the other last week. Provision of these medical devices was supported with funding from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF).
WHO reiterates its continuing support in providing humanitarian support to the health sector in Libya and expresses its gratitude to CERF for its timely and effective support.
