Situation analysis

There are several important initiatives in Medical Sciences Education in Jordan. Considerable achievements have been made in Nursing Education at all levels. In the field of Medical Education, both Medical Schools in Amman and Irbid are active. A center for Educational development at the University of Jordan has the potential to serve as an important resource for Jordanian Universities and other countries in the Region. During this biennium, WHO is supporting the two medical schools as well as the newly established school in Muta by organizing a medical education workshop. Collaboration should be strengthened during the 2002-2003 biennium in order to upgrade national capabilities in this area.
