Situation analysis

The laboratory directorate supervises the public health laboratory and the food analysis laboratories in Amman, Aqaba and Irbid. The public health laboratory is the reference laboratory in the country and provides services for laboratory analysis for samples from clinicians and public health doctors.

The food quality control laboratories carries out the responsibility of analyzing samples of imported food and samples of the local market in order to determine fitness for human consumption.

One of the priorities of the MOH is to upgrade the level of performance of these laboratories by training and through updating laboratory equipments and providing them with a new technology especially in the virology and bacteriology fields. laboratories.
