Amman, 3 April 2017 – A high-level WHO expert Health Systems review mission is planned to be conducted in Jordan between 23 and 27 April 2017 to provide technical support and recommendations to the Ministry of Health for the development of the next Strategic Plan (2018–2022). 

To ensure maximum effectiveness of this mission an expert pre-mission visited Jordan between 28 and 29 March 2017 to analyse the existing governance structure of the health system across the health sector in terms of mandate, institutional roles and responsibilities, as well as to discuss the achievements and gaps of the current Ministry of Health Strategic Plan (2013–2017).

The pre-mission’s also involved key partners like USAID, UNDP and UNICEF to discuss the expectations of the Ministry of Health, analyse the ongoing health policy mapping process and identify the strategic direction for the Ministry of Health Strategic Plan (2018–2022).
