:: Accreditation and self-assessment for Iraq medical colleges workshop

Erbil, 20 – 23 December 2009 -In cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, the Ministry of Central Health, and indirect participation with the two line ministries in Kurdistan government, WHO Iraq office conducted a workshop on Accreditation and Self-Assessment for Iraq Medical Colleges Workshop.

 

The workshop was conducted by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Dilawr Muhiyeddine, along with Dr. Naeema Al Gasseer, WHO representative in Iraq, Dr. Basem Sharif, member of Iraqi Parliament, and with the attendance of representatives from the Central government Parliament and governorates, in addition to the Head of Iraqi Medical Union, the Head of Accreditation National Committee of Medical Colleges in Iraq, the Dean for most of the Medical Colleges in Iraq, with representatives of Educational Medical Committees and Self Education, and Ministry of Planning.

 

Moreover, the workshop witnessed the participation of medical college students of Holeir Medical Universities to give feedback about the mechanisms of professors’ self-evaluation, which includes the self-evaluation process of colleges that should be on rotation.
