Objectives of the congress

The National Congress of Egyptian Medical Librarians will convene for the first time to draw a clear picture of the situation of health sciences libraries in Egypt.  It will provide a forum for analysis of challenges and possible solutions.  Initiatives and projects on networking, resource-sharing, digitization, automation, training and electronic publishing will be presented and discussed.

Topics to be covered in the National Congress:

  1. Health sciences libraries of the Ministry of Health and Population, including hospital libraries;
  2. Health sciences and medical libraries in faculties of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing and veterinary;
  3. Research libraries and information centers of medical research institutions;
  4. Information and communication technologies in the health sector;
  5. Library and information science education for health information professionals.
