Bi-regional workshop on the implementation of the global school-based student health survey

The World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean and WHO headquarters, in collaboration with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Atlanta, held a bi-regional workshop on the implementation of the global school-based student health survey, from 22 to 25 June 2009, in Tunis, Tunisia. A key objective of the workshop was to build capacity in data collection and analysis. Participants from WHO African and Eastern Mediterranean Regions working in the areas of health, school health and health-promoting schools attended the workshop.

The training programme included parallel session on data collection and analysis of selected risk behaviour for children aged 13-15 years old. Thirteen countries from the EMR and 5 UNRWA fields attended the training programme and developed plans to implement the Global school health survey
