The Health Cluster works to ensure that the Health Cluster lead agency (WHO), the Health Cluster Coordinator and partners work together during a humanitarian crisis to reduce avoidable mortality, morbidity and disability, and restore the delivery of equitable access to preventive and curative health care, as quickly as possible.
This orientation package provides standardized information on the Health Cluster. The aims of the package are to provide an overview and raise awareness of:
- humanitarian reform
- the cluster approach
- cluster finance mechanisms
- tools and guidance.
The intended audience is Health Cluster partners, and potential partners, at global, regional and country level.
The orientation package does not provide training in the use of Health Cluster tools. For information on available training, please contact the Health Cluster Coordinator in country, or the emergency preparedness and humanitarian action programme of the Regional Office.
