27 February 2025, Beirut, Lebanon – A productive meeting, facilitated by the World Health Organization (WHO), took place today between the Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Finance to discuss reporting on the introduction and methodology of the National Health Accounts (NHA).

The meeting is a key milestone in the ongoing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) project, which is generously funded by the Government of Luxembourg. The primary focus of the meeting was to establish a streamlined and efficient process for reporting to ensure transparency.

The ministries discussed technical aspects and collaborative efforts to enhance the accuracy of health spending data which is vital to advance UHC indicators and goals.

The NHA system will play a crucial role in providing detailed insights into national health expenditure, contributing to better policy-making and resource allocation in the health sector, and is in line with the National Health Strategy 2030 objective of improving data.
