Editorial Note:
It is clear from the above table that most of the countries are sending reports on AIDS regularly to WHO but a few countries are not and a couple of them have not sent their reports for a long time. Regular reporting is an important component of a good surveillance system, which is essential to monitor the trend of the epidemic, to plan the preventive interventions and to measure the effectiveness of these interventions. It is hoped that all countries will establish and maintain a good surveillance system and will report regularly to WHO.
