Editorial
Note:
It is clear from the above table that most of the
countries are sending reports on AIDS regularly to WHO but a few countries are not and a
couple of them have not sent their reports for a long time. Regular reporting is an
important component of a good surveillance system, which is essential to monitor the trend
of the epidemic, to plan the preventive interventions and to measure the effectiveness of
these interventions. It is hoped that all countries will establish and maintain a good
surveillance system and will report regularly to WHO.
