Iraq celebrates World Health Day
2011 – Combating Drug
Resistance, No action today, No
cure tomorrow

To
commemorate World Health Day
2011, the Iraqi Ministry of
Health with support of WHO
organized a kickoff ceremonial
event on the 10th of April in
the Ministry of Health Central
Hall. The ceremonial event was
headed by Dr. Iman Assam
Director-General of Medical
Affairs directorate in the
Ministry of Health and attended
by large number of MOH
officials, representatives from
other line ministries, and media
staff representing different
satellite channels and media
journals.
During the ceremony a folder kit
consisting of various
educational materials, posters
were distributed to the invitees
as well as exhibition stands
prepared by some of the
pharmaceutical suppliers to
distribute some educational
materials. An extensive media
and awareness campaign is
planned in all governorates in
Iraq where educational materials
will be distributed in addition
to organizing lectures,
exhibitions and events for
students, teachers, academia,
doctors and pharmacists in
primary health care centers and
academic institutions.
