Physicians at Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities are targeted for training.

Iraq adapted version of training materials for physicians developed and used for the first time in May 2005.

Courses conducted and health providers trained

A national training course was initially conducted in the country in the first phase of implementation in 1998. After the start of the second phase, the Iraq adapted version of the training materials was first used in an IMCI case management training course for physicians in May 2005. A total of 4 courses were conducted (see graph) and 86 health providers (physicians and nurses) were trained in IMCI by the end of 2005 (see graph). Top
